School day is 8:10 AM till 3:40 PM.
Hours of operation are 7:40 AM till 4:10 PM. 

 

Please arrive at school on time!
Cherry's day begins at 8:10 a.m. Students must not arrive before 7:40 a.m. unless they ride a bus. Students who are eating breakfast at school should arrive at 7:40 but no later than 8:10 a.m. Upon entering the building, all students will report to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.  After eating, Pre-K students will remain in the cafeteria with their teachers, and Kinder students will go to the gym. The front doors are locked at 8:10 a.m., so students arriving after this time should be escorted inside by an adult. Students arriving after 8:10 a.m. are tardy, and must get an admission slip from the office before going to their classroom. Persistent tardiness will NOT be tolerated. Attendance is taken daily at 10:10 a.m. Students must be in their classrooms to be counted present for the day. All students will be dismissed at 3:40 p.m. and should be picked up promptly. Upon returning from an absence, students must bring a note from home and get an admission slip from the office before going to class.

 

Attendance: 
One of our most important duties as parents is to instill good work habits in our children. Research shows that regular and punctual school attendance is essential to academic success. Students are to be in school, ready to begin learning at 8:10 a.m. every day. 

 

Students who are ill should stay home until they are clear of fever for 24 hours. A signed note from the parent/guardian explaining the reason for the absence is required within three days. Absences will only be excused with a doctor's note, and only if this is submitted within three days of the absence. When a student returns to school, make-up homework assignments and tests will be given. However, there are often enrichment activities which cannot be reproduced. We do not wish to encourage students to come to school when ill, but want to remind parents that all activities and lessons taught in the classroom contribute to successful learning. 

 

Cherry receives funding for the year based on daily attendance. Our accountability rating is also determined using attendance as an indicator.

 

 

 

 

Parents, please have your ID ready to be scanned. Only those who are on the child's contact list in Skyward will be allowed to drop off food or eat with the child.
